ICLP Get Together

‘Tis the season of galas and holiday celebrations, be it Yalda, Christmas, or Hanukkah. However, the Iranian community worldwide finds itself with a heavy heart these days, unable to feel any joy, given the horrific news we receive daily from Iran regarding the people’s fight for their basic freedoms.

Earlier this year, the ICLP had taken steps to organize its first, post-Covid Gala, which was cancelled in September when numerous reports of the deaths of innocent protestors in Iran began getting global attention.

While our community is unable to feel the holiday cheer at this time, it does not mean that we cannot support one another as we struggle on a daily basis to reconcile what is happening in Iran with what is fair and just. In these difficult times, getting together and supporting one another may be the only thing, but yet a valuable event we can engage in.

With that intention in mind, the ICLP hosted a get together at Jack Astor’s North York, on December 20th, 2022 at 6:00 pm. ICLP members were able to provide support to their fellow community members who have been witnessing and experiencing these difficult times.
